Do You Need DVD Player Software

Until recently,I used to think that all dvd player software was the same. Like most people, I would use whatever software to play dvd videos came with my computer. Although the dvd player software occasionally crashed, for the most part it would work okay. Sometimes, it would slow down a little bit or skip. At other times, the movie would fall a little bit out of sync with the dialogue on the dvd player software. I always just assumed that this was a result of using old or scratched dvds. I never suspected that the dvd player for windows could be to blame.

One day, one of my friends who is a very serious computer user as well as a software snob came over to watch dvd videos with me on the computer. As soon as he saw my dvd player software, he started laughing. He told me that he could not believe that I was using that dvd player software. He then informed me that it was several years out of date. When I told him that it seemed to work more or less, and played most of my dvds without problems, he just gave me one of those looks that said that I had just emerged from the caves. He went on to inform me that I needed to get a new dvd player software for my computer.

Since I did not have any problems with my dvd player software so at first I thought that this was not a good idea. After all, the dvd player software seemed to work pretty well and Best of all, it was free. The biggest reason that I did not want to go and get new dvd player software, however, was that because I am not a computer nerd therefore I was a little bit paranoid about using and installing the new software. Sometimes in the recent past, when I would change or update the software on my computer, it would cause all sorts of trouble. It would not boot as quickly, or Windows would become unstable and crash all the time. Installing new dvd player software just did not seem to be worth the risks and all the hassle involved.

Eventually, however, my friend talked me in to getting a new dvd player program. The free dvd player software that he recommended was supposed to be pretty good, and was not known for making Windows run badly. One more advantage it had was that it was a small program, so it would use up less memory than the dvd player software that I was currently running. I downloaded the dvd software player and installed it that very day. I was very pleasently surprised to find that as he had promised, it worked just fine. And I'm glad to say that since installing the dvd player software, I've had no more problems with playing my dvds! One thing I learnrd from installing the dvd player software is that when it comes to technology, you don't always need to keep sticking to the old things.Sometimes you should take the plunge and discover the new things as well.
